Volunteer Community Engagement
> Media
I have collaborated with PUBLICO (Portugal) to contribute to a live interview and a piece on "What to know before applying for a research grant".
Available on BolsasP3, Público Website, and @publicop3 Instagram.
I have also trained with Media Players International (Tim Grout-Smith and Lily Poberezhskaare, two experienced ex-BBC journalists) to publicise my research in non-specialised media.
> Mentoring
I have been selected as a mentor and have formally accompanied four PhD students from the University of Kent through the Graduate and Researcher College Mentoring Scheme. I am also an informal mentor of master students interested in doing research.

As a mentor, I usually focus on helping with topics such as navigating academia, grant applications, networking, academic profiling, and dealing with feedback.

> Productivity Boost Writing Club
I started my PhD during the COVID-19 pandemic and, like many people, had to find the motivation to write my thesis at home. I understood that was the case for many master's and PhD students, mainly in my Portuguese community.
I then decided to arrange four hours of online sessions. We would write for 50 minutes, share our thoughts, research doubts, and motivate each other in a 10-minute break. Despite the end of the pandemic, we are still running them. Drop me a line if you would like to join!

Teacher
I cared for children aged between 6 and 10 at the School of Bom Sucesso (Porto) for two hours a week. I decided to connect my knowledge of History and apply that to plastic expression activities. In that way, I stimulated the taste for History and provided a fun time after a busy day of classes.
